After breakfast at the marina, set sail for Cataran Bay on Border Island. Here you can enjoy spectacular snorkeling, diving and bushwalking. After lunch, up anchor and sail to Macona Inlet on Hook Island for a calm anchorage.

A gentle sail down the Whitsunday Passage will bring you to the northern end of Hook Island, famous for its abundant fringing coral reefs. Snorkel and explore Stonehaven Anchorage, then cruise around the corner to beautiful Butterfly Bay for the night.

Day six
After breakfast a short sail to Hayman Island, will delight! Blue Pearl bay offers world class snorkeling and diving. Cruise over to Langford Reef and pick up a mooring, head ashore and explore the beautiful sand cay. Motor over to Caves Cove for your last night onboard.

After an early breakfast, set your sails for the last time and reach to Able Point Marina, where the Operator will be ready to meet you as you enter marina.

The most important part of any charter boat holiday is the food and drink! There are a couple of good supermarkets locally, where you shop and provision the boat yourselves when you arrive. Alternatively you can take the stress out of shopping, and let the Operator do the hard work for you.

The Whitsunday Islands are situated off the North East coast of Queensland, and are world famous for amazing scenery, beaches, and fringing coral reefs. The Whitsunday waters provide a vast array of marine life including whales, dolphins, turtles and mantarays, making it a prefect spot for snorkeling and diving.
There are over 70 islands in the Whitsunday group, so you can guarantee that no matter which direction the winds are blowing, you will always be able to find a safe and comfortable anchorage for the night. And with easy line of sight navigation, cruising the Whitsundays could not be easier.
The Whitsundays has something to please even the most discerning sailor. Anchorages such as Nara or Macona Inlet offer spectacular lush fjord like scenery with smooth tranquil waters for a perfect nights sleep. You can explore the inlet on foot or by dinghy and enjoy waterfalls, aboriginal cave paintings and an abundance of native wildlife.
Humpback Whales
The Whitsunday Islands provide a safe, sheltered breeding ground for the majestic Humpback Whales. Each year between July and October, these gentle giants return to the Whitsunday's to raise their newborn calves, and enjoy the warm tropical waters before their annual migration back to Antarctica.
Whitsunday Charter Boat Weather Information
The Whitsundays are located at 20 degrees south, so share the same latitude with Fiji and Vanuatu. With average daily temperatures of 27 degrees, during your charter you can expect a warm tropical climate nearly all year round. The summer season runs from about December to February with warm tropical days and occasional showers.
From March to September you can expect the trade winds to dominate, with a prominent south east to east wind direction. During the months November through January it's normal to get wind from the north, north east direction. Generally the most settled time of year for a bareboat charter is from August through until November.
But whatever time of year you choose to bareboat charter, you will be guaranteed spectacular sailing, and magnificent scenery.

PARKING YOUR CAR:
There is one asphalt car park located at Abel Point Marina - limited parking is available
Security parking (under cover, under lock with valet service) is also available, please contact Airlie Central Secure Parking on 0437-083431 They are located right in the middle of Airlie (about 15 minutes walk from the marina). www.airliecentralsecureparking.com
Secure Car Parking:
Abel point Marina provides free open-air car parking, however space is limited. Alternatively, Whitsunday Airport secured Parking can collect your car once you have unloaded and park your car in their undercover secure parking. Upon your return from your bareboat charter, your car will be returned to the marina. Bookings are essential. Please note: cancellations within 24 hours will incur a fee.
HAMILTON ISLAND VESSEL PICK UP:
The Operator can deliver your vessel to Hamilton for $240 each way. The vessel is available from 11am.

Alternatively, you can transfer through to Abel Point Marina for $49 each way per adult. Or you can transfer to Shute Harbour from Hamilton Island Airport for $60 per adult ($30 for 4-14 year olds) and then cab/bus/limousine to Airlie Beach. All transfers and luggage are looked after.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CHARGE:
Marine Park Authority Fee (inclusive of administration) of $20.00 per person is payable prior to departure.The (EMC) is given to the Management Agency of (Great barrier Reef Marine Park Authority) and assists with the management of the World Heritage Marine Park. This can be paid on arrival or with the balance of charter fees 60 days prior to your charter.
INCLUDED IN YOUR CHARTER COST:
Dinghy with outboard motor, all bedding a linen (sheets, pillow cases, blankets, towels and tea towels) all crockery, cutlery and utensils, gas cooker, refrigeration systems including freezers and rail mounted gas BBQ’s. Snokelling gear, charts and books for navigation, including a comprehensive vessel and area briefing prior to your departure.
VESSEL SECURITY BOND:
A security bond is payable before commencement of charter. The Operator does not process the bond, but if is held on authorisation from your account for the duration of your charter. Providing your vessel is returned clean and without loss or damage, the Operator then destroys the authorisation within 14 days of your return.
CANCELLATION FEES:
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
- Cancellation made outside 60 days before your charter start date there is a $250 cancellation and adminstration fee.
- For cancellations made within 60 days of your boating charter departure date, no refunds will be made unless a substitute charter booking is obtained.
All cancellations of sailboat charter bookings must be in writing.
Crew:
For a real touch of luxury to your charter, why not hire a crew for your boat to sail you around the Whitsundays. A sail guide will cost you an extra $260 per day, and a hostess $240 per day (plus food)
FUEL CHARGES:
Fuel is not included in the cost of your charter, and will be charged on consumption at the end of your charter.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
The Operator highly recommends you purchase travel Insurance after you confirm your charter booking. Please see a Travel agent before arrival in the Whitsundays.
SAILING / CHARTER EXPERIENCE:
No formal qualifications are required to charter a bareboat catamaran in the Whitsundays. Prior to your arrival the Operator will get you to complete a resume, detailing your boating and/or sailing experience. This will cover some general questions, to give the Operator an idea of your level of experience. For those who are less experienced or not quite so confident, the Operator can organize a sail guide for you.
